This is Justin Lee Williams’ exceptional new show “Night Mountain I Miss You” at Mild Manners in Brisbane, Australia. Justin’s work is breathtaking both in terms of craft and storytelling. It would be amazing to see these watercolors in person.

“Justin spent the last few years living and working in a remote part of the Dandenong Ranges north of Melbourne. From his new studio windows in a space far closer to the city, he finds himself longing for what was, the dark lines of the hills he remembers so fondly and the plants, animals and characters that give it identity. This series is a celebratory exploration of loss and memory, reflecting on times past in the mountains, its people, local folk laws and myths.” – Mild Manners

These are beautiful, I absolutely love the semi transparent inkyness, and the scale is just wonderful, I’d love to make some huge pieces for people to get lost in, but these guys have a subtlety I could never achieve in my work…
