Hi Mylinda, First I want to encourage you that folwnliog a gluten-free, plant-based diet is totally doable. While we all aren’t gluten-free my youngest is (he is almost 2 years old) and he probably eats the healthiest of all of us. We don’t drink cows milk, I’m allergic to dairy and don’t give it to my kids. I buy almond milk, coconut milk, and rice milk. We primarily use almond milk, I buy a store brand, it happens to be the cheapest and we like how it taste the best. When I’m cooking for others I use rice milk in case there are any nut allergies. I like to rotate coconut milk in occasionally. All plant milks are fortified so it’s a good source of B12. Feeding your son a good variety will help him get all of the nutrients he needs. My kids don’t drink plant milk everyday. I used it a lot when they were transitioning off of dairy. They ask for it most mornings but I usually tell them, no milk today. I don’t think they really need it because they get plenty of calories. I’ll have a new post about this up in the next few days. Our whole family has now transitioned to a plant-based diet. We all eat and feel so much better.Best Wishes!
