Jung Eun Park is a Korean artist living in New York.

“Mostly my work has been about a relationship with my mother since I moved to New York and being separated from my family in a long distance. It became interests about a difficulty of communication, a fear of unconnected relationship, and a burden of being an independent person.”

design crush: soojin Kang

Soojin Kang of Seoul, Korea via all the mountains. These are pieces of reclaimed furniture that Kang has reupholstered (by hand) with scraps of leather. She’s clearly a super talented designer as she’s able to turn discarded goods into beautifully-crafted objects.

“According to designer Soojin Kang, who ‘fights against this epidemic (of disposables) with needles and threads,’ she believes that the lack of consumer consciousness will increase even more in the future.  She has therefore set out and hand crafted her own furniture which is inspired by traditional crafts and antique raw materials.”  – Yatzer
