Artist Crush: Misato Suzuki

April 3rd, 2012 · 3 Comments

Misato Suzuki was born in Aomori, Japan and lives in LA. I saw some of her older more subdued work on Pinterest, but these newer paintings are really wonderful. I really like paintings like these that mimic textiles. Suzuki also has a passion for ceramics and sculpture, as gleaned from her inspiration blog.

Artist Crush: Fumiha Tanaka

July 5th, 2011 · 2 Comments

Fumiha Tanaka (Miha) is a SCAD-educated, Brooklyn painter and ceramicist whose work reminds me of one of my favorite artists,  Keiko Minami. Miha’s artwork dips into her self-described “whimsical world”  and while childish and purposefully-primitive it captures a profound sense of the invisible bonds between people, animals and nature.

Artist Crush: Itsuko Suzuki

Itsuko Suzuki is an illustrator from Tokyo who has a little obsession with dogs. I have a big soft spot for whimsical, folksy Japanese art (and dogs) so my eyes just popped when I saw her work on Pinterest.
