Mary-u-wanna aka Florian & Michaël Quistrebert at Galerie Crèvecoeur.
This show by the Guistrebert brothers was inspired by Gothic architecture and ornamentation in New York City which they state“dares formal mixes, combining gothic vertical impetuses and constructivist cuttings, medieval austerity and futuristic megalomania.”

Tatiana Trouve at Galerie Perrotin via the always inspiring all the mountains. I’d really love to see this work in person.
Trouve’s work “…takes you on a trip down the rabbit hole, and brings you into a world where nothing appears to be as it seems. It is the place in our subconscious where memories, images, and thoughts blend to create those little fragments of truth that we can never decipher.” A Stay Between Enclosure and Space

Cool, charming and oh-so-quintessentially French clothes and accessories in very limited editions by Les Composantes (via all the mountains).

The photos and compositions reveal my point of view, my ideal of style: feminine, easy enough for everyday but always distinguished. – Morgane (translated by moi).

Aren’t these porcelain plates, cups and pots from atelier Halo to die for? I don’t think there’s one piece in the whole line I don’t want! The geometric patterns – some painted, others molded or carved into the porcelain – are delightfully simple and modern.

About the line:
atelier Halo is a tiny workshop in a small village house in the South West of France. atelier Halo is also a designer, Fanny Cavin, who dreams and creates objects she makes in porcelain. Objects she wants to be simple and useful; objects which can play with light, and sometimes play in the wind.

Sophie Leblanc is a French illustrator with a unique and playful point of view. A collection of her personal work (below) of children is currently on display at Expo Blou in Paris through the end of December. (I hadn’t heard of this show but it looks great!)

Sophie works as an illustrator, which certainly comes through in her punchy, spirited personal work. In fact, my favorite thing about her work is the mix of artsy and graphic. The first piece is a great example of this- a beautifully rendered line drawing with a big pop of color in the glasses. It works because there’s both tension and balance.

Parisian artist, Valerie Belmokhtar reached out to share her work, and I am totally enamored with her exquisite drawings and etchings. The obsessive repetitions and fading are wonderful foils for the psychological fragility of the artist’s subjects, who include Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul. These women appear to be having out-of-body experiences, less rooted in reality than they are floating through a sea of emotion.
