German artist Frauke Thielking via Fine Line Magazine. There’s real poetry in these images and in the 2:1 ratio they are displayed (disclaimer: I put the last duo together). This is not to mention the work’s existential jab with it’s everyday citizens relegated to shapes and patterns.

Jessica Steeber and Cassandra Smith of Milwaukee, Wisconsin just launched Fine Line, a whip-smart and refreshingly low-key fine arts magazine. (The two used to work together at the now defunct Armoury Gallery.) The first edition came out last month and features 14 awesome artists from 7 countries and tons of inspiring quotations about art and life. I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy.

Fine Line is a hybrid between the gallery and traditional magazines; free of all advertising, reviews, previews and biographies, it instead encourages the viewer to develop their own understanding of and relationship to the ideas presented.
Because we are visual creatures with increasingly short attention spans, because printed materials are one of the last refuges from the constant onslaught of moving images and interactivity, because art is important.
