Embroidered song titles by Maricor/Maricar via Seesaw. They make it look so easy, don’t they? I love that they appropriated the corded texture to accentuate the designs and bring them to life.

Jo Chambers is a lovely Art Hound reader from Bristol who just opened a shop on etsy. The textile artist and illustrator, who goes by Studio Legohead, is selling blank cards of her original illustrations of dogs and fashion accessories. I can only assume that these are dogs she knows well because the drawings capture so much personality!
.
But wait! There’s more! Jo also does embroidered doggie portraits! I’m in love!
Beautiful embroidery by At Swim Two Birds. These pieces are from her series, Wormholes and Peacocks, which you can view on flickr. I love seeing the distinction of art and craft blurring as artists take up traditional craft media like embroidery. Two other artists working in embroidery are Cathy McMurray and Ana Botezatu.

I know I came across this work on another art blog but for the life of me I can’t remember which. So my sincere apologies for the missing link back.
