Artist Crush: Elizabeth Barnett

Australian artist Elizabeth Barnett’s paintings remind us of the comfort of the simple things in home life we often overlook such as wooden chairs, braided rugs and potted plants. These interior scenes could be from fifty years ago, but they are also very modern from today’s design aesthetic. Barnett’s work has been featured in The Design Files Collect exhibition.

Floral textiles by Melbourne-based artist, Elizabeth Barnett. According to her website, “Elizabeth’s more recent work with textiles harks back to a childhood surrounded by handmade clothes, quilts and the delicate embroidery pieces made by her mother.”
