Deer Head vs. Modern Olympia

I saw this lovely bedroom by Casey Dunn on design is mine and thought it could use some art. So in lieu of the deer head…

…I would add this painting by Alexandros Vasmoulakis available through LeBasse Projects.

The painting’s lounging figure is a reference to Olympia, the iconic painting by Eduard Manet (see below). Vasmoulakis’ version appears to take place in a post- industrial world. The sofa is fractured by a bizarre fault in the ground, and our leading lady sits on the foreground instead. Did you spot the deer behind the figure?
