Mayer. Peace Collections

May 24th, 2011 · No Comments

I am drooling all over these images from fashion and costume designer Christine Mayer’s Summer 2011 collection (via the women’s room). I am just blown away by the beauty in these shots. The model has such unusual and expressive features… and that hair! It’s so refreshing to see models who look like real people.

Artist Crush: Camila do Rosario

Camila do Rosário’s watercolors via Changethethought. Camila has her own brand of feminine, fashiony art, but I see influences of Frida Kahlo (second image) and Magritte (third) and Art Nouveau (four and five). The artist lives in Florianópolis which Changethethought asserts is one of the prettiest cities in Brasil – it seems pretty begets pretty.

Art + Fashion: Gretchen Wagoner + A Alicia

September 17th, 2010 · No Comments

I’d been coveting these knitted necklaces by A Alicia which I discovered on Darling Dexter and then it hit me! These necklaces are a PERFECT fit for Gretchen Wagoner’s delicate, feminine work which also features rope and knots. Below is Wagoner’s “Turquoise Turtle Knot” made of gouache and graphite on paper.

Art + Fashion: DVF and Michelle Armas

Deep blue-green, mustard yellow and hints of lavender: the colors of this dress by DVF (via shopbop) are spot-on for fall. And I discovered this beautiful painting, Cassidy, by Michelle Armas with the same palette and floral motif.
