Private Language: Malin Gabriella Nordin

Wednesday, October 10, 2012 · 1 Comment

Malin Gabriella Nordin’s “Private Language” has been making its way around the web. It’s a lovely project that is centered around a grouping of sculpture that young children were asked to interpret and re-arrange. (Lucky kids!). I wonder what they made of it all.

“I invited eleven children in the ages 3 – 5 to interpret my collection of sculptures. I met with each child individually for an hour… I asked each one of them if they felt the collection was missing something and if so could they draw the missing piece. I also asked them if the sculptures were placed in the right order or if they wanted to rearrange them, which all except for one did.” – Malin Gabriella Nordin

How FUN! So much artwork is off limits for children…yet they’re the most creative among us. How smart of the artist to tap into this potential. And the little girl moving the art in the bottom photo…ahhhh!
