Turner Prize: Karla Black

Friday, March 16, 2012 · 2 Comments

These are images of Scottish artist Karla Black’s work for the Turner Prize Exhibition from Modern Art via all the mountains. Karla says that she’s attracted to raw materials such as plastic, powder and chalk because of the lack of allegorical or symbolic meaning. The result is really lovely – I would describe it as elegant chaos. You can watch the artist talk about the work here.

I was lucky enough to see one of Karla’s installations at Toulouse; work involving an entire gallery floor covered in flour. It was stunning!
