Design Crush: stellar quilts

Tuesday, February 8, 2011 · 2 Comments

Jimmy McBride makes quilts unlike any I’ve ever seen. McBride takes his inspiration from space – a decidedly modern and masculine theme. As an aside: Isn’t it funny how some creative domains like the food and fashion industries are full of men yet something like quilting is still so women-oriented? I find that kind of thing fascinating.

The artist is based in Brooklyn and is showing at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York next month. The quilts below are all for sale in his etsy shop.

These are ridiculously cool. I could never commit to the time these take to make, but I admire that this guy can! See you Saturday at brunch with Abby! How fun 🙂

I am also way too impatient to tackle such big projects! Looking forward to meeting you. : )
