Drawings by Jessica Ann Mills available on her etsy shop. Jessica’s humble drawings beautifully document homes in tired and depressed neighborhoods across Nebraska and South Dakota. A local of Omaha, Nebraska, Jessica depicts these neighborhoods with affection and provide the opportunity for us, even as outsiders, to do the same.
.
Jessica’s work stands as relic to things abandoned: objects with desired functions that seem to have been forgotten or worn through. It is her intention to act as preservationist for these things left behind; these things, that with time, become increasingly swallowed by the landscape in which they are put to rest. Jessica explores her own identity in relation to land through the process of making intricately detailed studies of the landscape that surrounds her.
