Today’s artist, Lisa Pounders, is based out of Oregon and had a career in technology before becoming a working artist. Lisa’s paintings are made of visual layers: intricate, textile-like backgrounds, graphic elements and symbols, and free-associated vignettes. The result is a distinctive mix of feminine aesthetics, pop culture and a decidedly modern sense of irony.
Below left is Pounders’ painting, Bachelorettes in Spring, a modern interpretation of Botticelli’s Primavera (c. 1482), below right.
Pounders’ work is available at Patricia Cameron Gallery and BICA.

February 25, 2012 at 7:17 amYou know it’s really hard to care about this fight card. Anytime any of the firtgehs on this card goes out there it’s really perplexing they don’t have a lot of meaningful fights. My advice is bet your friend a bag of potato chips so that you even care .don’t spend your time clicking the refresh button to see who wins go out this weekend have some fun .tune in next week we’ll tell you who won. That’s where the real explosive, technical fighting happens. But if you don’t see that, no amount of explaining will sway you from a meat head attitude. Reply

/ Crossfit is insane. A freind of mine helps us to a modified work out a few times a week at the base gym. I think she gets them off the internet. You can too. Once you get off the crapper.

I watched AI once. ONCE. And not even all the way through. I feel the same way about it as I do about soap operas.Fuck that shit.I do like the phrase “budding loins”. I’m going to try to use it conversationally. “What’s for dinner? Budding loin chops”.Sweet.
