FUEL Collection: Far In Far Out

Wednesday, September 23, 2009 · 3 Comments

Last week I had the chance to visit FUEL Collection in Olde City, Philadelphia and was amazed by the grandeur of the space, which I’m sure hosts some pretty awesome events.

The current exhibit is Far In Far Out with Erica Prince, Garrett Crabb, Mylinh Chau, Garrett Davis.  I was most intrigued by Prince’s work which tells the stories of quirky individuals through their personal space and possessions.  Many of Prince’s paintings look like views into doll houses if only dolls actually lived in them and had an abundance of stuff.  See here for more on Prince on artblog.

“I urge the viewer to make themselves at home. Become the missing character…Try the spaces on like trying on a bad outfit. You know it is too flamboyant, but you have a sick curiosity of how it might look.” – Erica Prince

The Necoro are no longer aivblaale, but there is another robot cat coming out in August 7th. Called Near Me. It is taken after Necoro and the site has video clips of the cats in action. They are really cool. type in the search near me and you’ll see some stores that carry them. All you need is to find someone that can import the cat to you. I preorded my tabby already!

Wonderfully expressive, sulppe and alive body. I wish mine were more like that (. . . except for the black and white hair all over . . . it suits him but might look less becoming on me, interesting but . . .!)
